The pursuit of Wellness is unique to each individual. Additionally, the area of wellness focus can change periodically for an individual, as life changes occur.  I'm an experienced and Certified Wellness Coach trained in proven methods of effective behavior change. It's common for people to feel hopeless from trying and failing to quit unhealthy habits or add healthy ones. One on one Wellness coaching is very effective in helping people make healthy lifestyle changes when going it alone failed.

 

The Nature of Change

 

Too many people look for easy and quick solutions. There are no magic pills or magic diets. But behavior change does not require superhuman willpower either. It can be successfully accomplished and managed once it is understood and a process is followed with the help of a qualified Wellness coach.  Wellness coaches guide, encourage and support participants to move along the continuum of change - from not thinking about change - to considering change - to taking action - to  maintaining change. With the help of a coach, people can successfully progress through the stages of change whether it's pertaining to weight loss, adding exercise, quitting smoking or a host of other lifestyle improvements.

 

The Wellness Coaching process includes:

 

1) helping individuals realize their current state of wellness in a host of areas

2) helping them understand the benefits of change

3) determine readiness for change 

4) identifying the barriers to change 

5) building skills and providing tools  

6) helping individuals realize the need to take self-responsibility for their choices

7) helping individuals build the self-efficacy skills they need to make healthy change

8) guiding in the development of a wellness plan with "smart" goals and action steps

9) insuring follow-through and change with effective accountability methods

10) supporting and celebrating positive change

What Happens in the Wellness Coaching Relationship

 

The wellness coaching experience is much like climbing a mountain with an experienced guide. The Wellness Coach is the mountain guide. A mountain guide does not climb a mountain for you, they help you climb to new heights in places you may have never been before. The guide is an ally, a supporter, a source of feedback and a motivator who helps you hold yourself accountable to the goal you set. Together you reach the summit and experience the benefits of your goal and the feeling of true accomplishment!
